It's All New to Me!

Wow! It's here, the beginning of the year for a brand new LA8 and a new set of leaders for Tapping Primary School in Year 6. I wonder so many things... I wonder if they will make the most of every day? I wonder what secret talents and skills they may possess? I wonder if they will be as excited as I am about camp? Most importantly, I wonder if they'll laugh at all my jokes, I've been working hard on some new material!

This is my fifth year teaching at Tapping PS and my fifth year teaching Year 6. I feel privileged to guide and develop the leaders of our school. It's a journey, it doesn't happen overnight. It takes slip ups, mistakes and challenges to create well-rounded, resilient adolescents who are ready for the journey into high school and beyond.

This week we will get to know each other and establish some shared expectations for our class. We will do Yoga together for the first time and discuss leadership positions for the Year 6's. Watch this space as we get to know the 2017 LA8. Til next time it's paper, scissors...

  1. I couldn't wait to get into LA8 this afternoon. I was over the moon when Mr Boylan told me I would be working in there. I had been with this year level twice before, once in year 1 and last year in year 5, so to get them in their senior year is just amazing, granted there are some new faces but I am excited to get to know them too. Another reason is Mrs Gill has been on my wish list of teachers I have wanted to work with for some time, so with that being said I know its going to be an awesome year. 2. It sounds awesome! (And Mrs Gill please don't get your hopes up with the jokes) Year six makes you happy, sad, laugh, cry, but it teaches you a lot! Make sure you soak up all of your teachers knowledge and use it for beneficial causes. It will take a while to settle in and once you do, you will feel right at home! Miss everyone! Have fun on camp (has it gone yet?) and have fun in the space of this year because it's your last! AAAAAH!
